Friends in Kneed encourages young athletes to support one another through sharing their experiences in a forum, while learning about their injuries and how to prevent future injuries during the rest of their athletic careers. It gives athletes a community and a support network to let them know that they are not the only ones in their situations and that there are other athletes that are going through and have been through the same process. Friends in Kneed creates a student athlete knee-rehabilitation support group that in the future hopes to provide other injured athletes in financial need with aid for knee-related operations and proper rehabilitation.

Sudden change is unsettling, and an ACL injury–or any injury for that matter–can either be an obstacle or a fork in the road. It is of equal difficulty to decide whether or not to fight and conquer an obstacle or to leave the road altogether and embark on a new journey. I suggest you follow your heart, listen to your body, and be open to new possibilities. Broken dreams can be mended but time away and a positive outlook breaks way for new dreams to form.

Hey guys! Just got finished with my workout for today! Though my soccer career is over, I’m enjoying my daily runs and weight training at the gym. I’m two and a half years post op from my second ACL surgery and I’ve never felt stronger in my life both mentally and physically. Keep working hard and remember that all hope is never lost… Everything happens for a reason!

The soccer season has officially started! We had our first game a little over a week ago and won 5-0 (I scored and got two assists off corners)! I’m so excited to hopefully lead my team to another state championship! -Kris22
